 The security company called Signal 88 has a new franchise in Peoria. John Blossom is the Central Illinois franchise owner. He says his meeting with the Peoria Police department was encouraging:
Blossom: They were very enthusiastic about what we are doing, because particularly false alarms and alarm systems they are very, very expensive to them and 97% of them are false alarms. So we can handle those with some perimeter checks with our well uniformed, well trained officers and save them money and save them time.
Blossom says so far they have five employees and he’s looking to employ 10 to 20 security officers in the next three months. They offer vehicle and walking patrols as well as guard shack and special event services. Signal 88 is the ‘situation secure’ police code in Omaha, Nebraska where the company was founded. The security business will cover Peoria, Tazewell, Woodford and McLean Counties.
